Brief Introduction Of Balrampur-Ramanujganj District

               The far north-eastern Balrampur-Ramanuganj district of Chhattisgarh is known for its cultural diversity and natural beauty. Balrampur-Ramanujganj district, bordering Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, attracts people spontaneously because of its culture and non-Greekness. The archaeological site of Gaurlata Dipadih, the highest peak of Chhattisgarh, the water fall of Powai, the hot water source of Tatapani, the flowing water stream of Kanhar, the beauty of the Pat areas or the tribal culture here, give a distinct identity to Balrampur. Balrampur-Ramanujganj district, which came into existence on January 17, 2012 after being separated from undivided Surguja, is spread over 602 thousand square kilometers. The district includes 8 Tehsils, 06 Development Blocks, 06 Sections and 1 Municipality and 04 Nagar Panchayats. There are 468 gram panchayats and 636 villages in the district. And the headquarter of Balrampur-Ramanujganj district is situated in Balrampur. As of 2011 India census, Balrampur-Ramanujganj district has a population of 730491. In which male population is 370256 and female population is 360235. 695808 population of the district lives in the village and 34683 people live in the city. The literacy rate of the district is 57.98 percent, in which male literacy is 67.78 percent and female literacy is 47.93 percent. The major population of the district belongs to the tribal community, in which mainly special backward tribes Pahadi Korwa, Korwa and Pando reside, as well as Nageshiya, Khairwar, Kodaku, Gond, Oraon tribes. Balrampur district also holds an important place from the environmental point of view, about 54 percent of its area is forested, which provides a pleasant experience to its residents.

Inauguration of new tehsil

               Presently there are total 11 tehsils under Balrampur-Ramanuganj district. On the basis of demand and administrative approach of the villagers of the area, 03 new tehsils were announced by the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel under Balrampur district, in which Chando from Samri tehsil, Daura-Kochli from Balrampur tehsil and Raghunathnagar new tehsil from Wadrafnagar tehsil, Honorable Chief Minister Launched on 31 March 2022 through Virtual. The total population of new tehsil Daura-Kochli is 36826, the total number of villages is 47 and the number of patwari circles is 13. Similarly, in Chando the total population of Tehsil is 26055, the number of villages is 22 and the number of Patwari circles is 08 and in Raghunathnagar the total population is 22192, the number of villages is 48 and the number of Patwari circles is 16. With the establishment of a new tehsil in the district, people will not have to travel long distances for revenue related works and all revenue related services will reach the last mile.

Balrampur growing on the path of development

               In the last three weeks, Balrampur-Ramanujganj district has created new dimensions of development and has worked to provide equal opportunities to all as per the concept of governance. Balrampur district is playing full participation in realizing the concept of governance of Garhbo Nava Chhattisgarh. In the last three years, remarkable works have been done in the expansion of health facilities in the district. On the one hand, due to the better implementation of the Chief Minister’s Haat-Bazar Clinic scheme, health facilities have been provided to tribal-dominated remote areas, on the other hand, people are getting better treatment from the district hospital to the community and primary health centers, due to which the people living in Vananchal are getting better treatment. People have also benefited. Specialist doctors have been posted in the district hospital through the Mineral Trust Fund, due to which it has become possible to get better treatment here instead of referring the patients.
